Raw Artisan Honey
Raw Artisan Honey
–Pablo Neruda
Honey, like wine, takes its uniqueness from the characteristics of the land – the terroir – loosely translated as a 'sense of place'. And Long Point is a place like no other. Located on the most remote and untamed peninsula of Prince Edward County, the spectacular limestone cliffs and the waters of Lake Ontario moderate the climate in all seasons. The savannahs, ponds and wetlands support glorious forage for bees: basswood, willows, black locust, feral apple and wild raspberry in the spring; milkweed, sumac, teasel, viper’s bugloss, chicory and sweet clovers in the summer; and thistle, goldenrod, toadflax and birdsfoot trefoil in the fall.
Long Point Honey is the distillate of this abundance.
